San Diego, CA., March 12, 2024—  Surf Cup Sports (San Diego, CA) is proud to announce the launch of its newest partner club, Oregon Surf. In the world of youth sports, the Surf brand is renowned for professionalism, elite event management, high-quality coaching, and, most importantly, a deep commitment to youth player development. Surf’s mission is to create experiences and opportunities for players, and the club is excited to announce the next step toward achieving this goal in the state of Oregon.

Effective immediately, Northwest Elite FC, one of the fastest-growing clubs in Oregon, will transition to Oregon Surf. Launching in partnership with Surf Nation, Oregon Surf will join a community that has a proven track record of developing and sending players into international youth training centers, professional academies, and onto the collegiate ranks. Led by some of the most experienced coaches, staff, and administrators in the state, Oregon Surf will continue to provide a top-quality soccer experience but now also have access to resources that create further opportunities for its players and coaching staff within the Surf Nation community.

“We strive to make Surf Nation stronger in talent every single day,” says Andy Prosser, Surf Nation Director. “As our Surf Nation Program continues to expand, it’s essential that we partner with clubs and staff run by like-minded, sports management executives, coaches, and administrators, as they are dedicated to our mission to provide the best experiences and opportunities for their athletes. We think there is an opportunity to elevate youth soccer in Oregon and it was clear to see the leadership team at Oregon Surf are aligned with our mission. The club has a deep history of striving for excellence, and we truly believe this is the premium destination for youth soccer in the state.”

“There are moments when you discover a special opportunity to elevate an entire community by making a strategic change,” says Lloyd Fobi, Board President of Oregon Surf. “Doing the hard work now—and bringing the proven Surf pathway to our athletes—will open opportunities never seen before in the state of Oregon. This exciting partnership marks a significant milestone in our club’s history, and we gratefully embrace it.”

Oregon Surf will strive to provide the best player development experience, pathway, and opportunities within the state. As part of the Surf Nation network, Oregon Surf players and families will have access to additional support on and off the field, and the club will seek a clear position as the number one youth soccer organization in the state. Top players from Oregon Surf will have direct access to Surf Select, an unmatched identification program built through Surf Nation. This program draws from a player pool that extends from Puerto Rico and Rhode Island to Hawaii and Canada, affording selected players the chance to compete in the best international and domestic events.

“We look forward to leveraging the combined strengths, expertise, and passion of Oregon Surf and Surf Nation as we work to elevate our collective impact for players here in the state of Oregon. This collaboration embodies our shared commitment to excellence, unity, and the relentless pursuit of sporting success,” says Linus Rhode, Executive Director, Oregon Surf. “We are thrilled to embark on this journey together and can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
