San Antonio Surf Welcomes CTX Flash

San Antonio Surf and CTX Flash Partner to Create Greater Opportunities and Experiences in Central Texas

Surf Cup Sports (San Diego, CA) is proud to announce our new affiliate, Central Texas Surf SC (Hays County, TX), an expansion of San Antonio Surf SC in South Texas.  CTX Flash will rebrand their club to Central Texas Surf for the start of the 2020 season and along with San Antonio Surf are devoted to solidifying the best in player development and creating a strong player pathway in South Texas.

Based in Hays County, Texas, Central Texas Surf will feature boys and girls recreational as well as competitive teams of all ages, serving the cities between San Antonio and Austin in Texas.

“We are excited to bring extended programming to Central Texas and we are thrilled that our San Antonio team has found a like-minded partner that is as dedicated to their player’s development pathway. Surf is committed to offering all benefits of the Surf brand to help drive this success for our Texas clubs and are excited to help bring an even higher level of soccer to Texas through the Surf Program,” said Brian Enge, CEO Surf Sports.

“One of the reasons this partnership appeals to us is because the folks at CTX Flash share a similar goal and that is to provide better opportunities for our players and families. We feel that collaboration between clubs improves our ability to provide those opportunities, especially when it comes to programs like Surf Select. Strategic partnerships are the future of youth soccer and aligning with like-minded organizations and working together allows us to provide better opportunities for the players,” said San Antonio Surf Executive Director Rick Kuchka.

“We are grateful to both Surf Cup Sports and San Antonio Surf for this opportunity and looking forward to joining the strong culture of Surf Nation,” said Scott Moore, Director of Coaching for Central Texas Surf.  “This is an amazing opportunity for our players and future connections to be built between the Surf teams in this region.”

Coach Moore also added, “I am extremely impressed with the quality and professionalism of the Surf organization and looking forward to partnering with one of the top soccer clubs in the US. Having had players play in Surf College Cup this past Fall, the quality of the program is unmatched and we are excited to join and contribute to Surf Nation.”

Surf Cup Sports and Alamo City Soccer Club Partner to Create Greater Opportunities and Experiences in San Antonio

Surf Cup Sports (San Diego, CA) is proud to announce our new partnership with Alamo City Soccer Club (San Antonio, TX), a nationally recognized, community-centered, soccer club in South Texas.  Alamo City will rebrand their club to San Antonio Surf. The club will play the remainder of 2019 as Alamo City SC but will be fully integrated into the Surf Brand by the start of the 2020 season. San Antonio Surf is devoted to solidifying the best in player development and creating a strong player pathway in San Antonio and joining Surf provides them a clear opportunity to fulfill that mission.

San Antonio Surf features boys and girls recreational, competitive, and amateur teams of all ages, servicing more than 600 players in the greater San Antonio area.  Training, games, and events are held at Alamo Sportsplex/Culebra Creek Soccer Park, a 74-acre complex with 15 full-size fields, owned/managed by the club.  In addition to three large tournaments hosted by the club, Alamo Sportsplex also hosts leagues, Cups, and playoff events for local and state associations.

San Antonio Surf is a perfect partner for us, they share the same dedication to Surf’s mission of creating the best opportunities and experiences for their players. Our new partnership allows us to provide them with the tools to continue to grow their club and to expand on this mission while offering an elite programming pathway,” said Surf’s Brian Enge.  Added Enge, “Surf Cup Sports is committed to building an authentic network of partner clubs in South Texas and the team at San Antonio Surf fit perfectly into our community.”

According to San Antonio Surf Executive Director Rick Kuchka, “one of the reasons this partnership appeals to us is because the folks at Surf Cup Sports share a similar goal and that is to provide better opportunities for our players and families.  We feel that collaboration between clubs improves our ability to provide those opportunities, strengthens and helps educate our coaching staff in new ways, and streamlines our administrative processes, so that we can provide the best experience possible for those that put their faith in us.

If organizations are serious about preparing youth athletes for the future then why not come together and share resources and ideas.  This is something that we have been doing internally with our staff, so that coaches aren’t out there operating on an island.  We understand that in order to grow our players we have to grow ourselves and continue educating ourselves and sharing best practices.  This new partnership takes that idea to another level and we are very excited for the future,” said Kuchka.

“As our Surf Affiliate Program continues to expand, it’s important that we partner with organizations that are run by like-minded Coaches and Administrators as they are dedicated to our mission to provide the best of the best experiences and opportunities for their athletes” said Chris Adams, Director of the Surf Affiliate program.

San Antonio Surf will be able to take advantage of improved player opportunities, coaching development, administrative tools and marketing support – all which allow them to spend more time developing players and winning teams,” added Adams.
