Surf Nation is comprised of like-minded coaches and administrators dedicated to our Surf mission to provide the best experiences and opportunities for their athletes. Since 2021, Dallas Surf has been a proud partner of Surf Nation, and we have thoroughly enjoyed the partnership. We have watched their amazing club grow and seen them take full advantage being a part of the Surf brand.

We sat down with Dallas Surf's Executive Director, Tony Cavalle, to learn more about how Surf has helped their club, players, coaches, and administrators with their upcoming season goals:

What is the greatest benefit to Dallas Surf being part of the Surf Nation community?

The biggest benefit to Dallas Surf being part of the Surf Nation community is the opportunity it creates for our players and coaches and the Brand itself.

Being part of Surf Nation has allowed Dallas Surf in a short time to give our players access to high-level competition, national events, and real exposure beyond the local level. Events like Champions League and Surf Select push our players to compete against top talent and help them grow.

Just as important is the community and collaboration across Surf clubs nationwide. There’s a shared mindset, strong leaders to learn from with a willingness to work together and share ideas, while still allowing Dallas Surf to keep its own identity and culture.

The best thing is, Surf Nation fits into what we already know and strive for which is great development, big opportunity, and doing things the right way.

Reflecting on the Fall season, what excites you most about your club's going into Spring 2026? Do you have any goals for this season as a club?

What excites us most going into Spring 2026 is the momentum we’ve built coming out of the Fall and the direction the club is continuing to move in.  We’ve grown tremendously over the last couple of years and have been able to keep our Club Quality and DNA consistent even with the growth.

As we’ve jumped into higher, national platforms, we’ve seen strong performances on the field, continued growth in player development and directors and coaches working hard to implement a consistent style.   While our girls have always been strong, our boys have taken a tremendous jump with multiple teams in line to compete for championships.  This is a huge step for a program that was behind when the club started and shows no sign of slowing down.

As we head into Spring 2026, our goals stay the same.   We will continue raising the development standard across every age group, compete at a high level on national platforms, create more opportunities for players and support and develop our coaches, making sure they have the tools to succeed

Dallas Surf has grown tremendously over the past few years. What do you attribute this growth to, both in terms of club size and the quality of players the club continues to produce?

Our growth over the past few years has been driven by a clear vision and plan.  Not to pat ourselves on the back, but none of it has been by accident.  We know what we are trying to achieve, put together a specific plan, and work hard at it knowing we have a great product.

We’ve stayed focused on transparency with our players, parents and coaches, and that’s not always the case in our market. Families and players see that we are trying to do things the right way and make decisions not based on the bottom line, but on what is best for the player.  That approach has led to better coaches and players over time, which naturally elevates the level of teams across the club.  We’ve created a place that people want to be.

Our biggest factor, and it always will be, is our people.  We’ve invested heavily in our staff, hiring the right people, supporting their growth, and making sure everyone is aligned on how we do things. That consistency shows up on the field and creates trust with families.

Our partnership with Surf Nation also plays a major role. Being part of a national Brand has expanded opportunities for our players and coaches, and we try to take advantage of every one of them.

Finally, our growth is rooted in our Culture and Relationships. We prioritize creating an environment that everyone wants to be a part of.   We work hard nonstop, set big goals, and celebrate our wins.  Sometimes coaches feel undervalued, and that isn’t the case at Dallas Surf.  We have very little turnover and we are proud of that.  DFW is a hyper competitive market with lots of opportunities in youth soccer, and every year with have a line of coaches wanting to join because they know it’s a great place to be.
