San Diego, CA., August 6, 2024— Surf is delighted to announce that Phoenix Surf will rebrand as West Valley Surf, AZ, under a new leadership team. In the world of youth sports, the Surf brand is renowned for professionalism, elite event management, high-quality coaching, and, most importantly, a deep commitment to player development, resulting in hundreds of All-American athletes and thousands of scholarships. Our mission is to create experiences and opportunities for kids, and we're excited to announce a new era for players and families within the West Valley region of Arizona.
Effective immediately, Phoenix Surf will transition to West Valley Surf, AZ, in conjunction with Pima County Surf and under the leadership of Sam and Sarah Gaxiola. At this time, all Phoenix Surf teams, players, coaches, and programming will migrate to West Valley Surf, AZ, as part of this transition. Since 2022, Pima County Surf has been a shining light within the Surf Nation community, showcased by their organic growth, a deep commitment to the Oro Valley community, and a true investment in player development for the Arizona community.
The Surf Nation community has a proven track record of developing players, and seeing them move through the player pathway into the US National Team Program and into the professional and collegiate ranks. Led by a new leadership who has a true investment in the Surf brand, West Valley Surf, AZ, is set to provide high-quality programming, an expanded player development pathway, and a tradition of investing in the local community that Pima County Surf has replicated.
